KATHMANDU, AUG 28 - After the failure to forge an agreement with the High Level Political Committee ( HLPC ), the 33 disgruntled parties led by CPN-Maoist has decided to urge the President to play the role of facilitator.
The alliance of poll-opposing parties is scheduled to meet President Ram Baran Yadav on Thursday and submit a memorandum regarding the same.
The alliance concluded that the much-talked-about roundtable conference could not happen because of the four major parties.
At a press meet organised at the party headquarters in Buddhanagar, Kathmandu on Wednesday, CPN-Maoist leader Dev Gurung stressed on the need to call for an all-party roundtable meet for a national consensus before the Constituent Assembly elections.
Accusing the major four political parties of moving ahead in a unilateral manner, the disgruntled parties have made public various protest programmes including rallies and shutdowns from September 11- 26 in different towns across the country.
The protest is aimed at affecting the upcoming CA polls slated for November 19.
