Everest World Records

In the early 1800s, when the British were colonizing the world and headed towards Nepal a number of obstacles arose and they were unable to conquer this country. They were already stationed at different parts of India settling, trying to plant a British flag on Indian land. During the same period, while they were on the expedition in the Himalayas, the greatest peak of the world was discovered and it stood high in Nepal. Since then many expeditions have been carried out to the great Mount Everest that is 8848 meters high above the sea level. Before the first successful expedition to the Everest, a number of expeditions were carried out by different nationalities. Those expeditions failed until the year 1953. On 29 May 1953, the New Zealander-Edmund Hillary and the Nepali-Tenzing Norgay reached the top of Everest for the first time.

There have been many expeditions to the top of the world since then. Records have been set and the climbers have been rewarded with recognitions and fame all over the world. Here is a list of the records made in the Everest.
